STIMULATING OF BLOOD CLOTTING BY BISCHOFIA JAVANICA BLUME ROOT EXTRACT-

Most deaths are caused by massive blood loss because the rate of blood loss is faster than for the normal clotting rate. If this keeps on happening, more and more lives will be lost. In this research, we found a way to stimulate and speed up the process of blood clotting. One of the chemicals that make this possible is found in BischofiajavanicaBlume(Bishop Wood) roots, local name Sikkam (North Sumatra). The major phyto-constituents which have been isolated from BischofiajavanicaBlumeare tannin, β amyrins, betulinic acid, friedelan-3α-ol, epifriedelinol, friedelin, luteolin and glucoside, quercetin, beta-sitosterol, stigmosterol, ursolicacid (Cambie, 1984; Gupta, 1988; Whistler, 1992). The body's response to a blood infection is called sepsis. Pathogens can enter the skin through open wounds, blisters, cuts, or surgical incisions. As such, it is crucial that the stimulation material be antibacterial. Furthermore, it must be safe to be applied on the wounds. To see how the blood clots, first we get the root extract by cutting its skin, boil it in water, and obtain the extract. We take five blood samples to test if the extract is able to stimulate the blood clotting. From this research, we could conclude that the BischofiajavanicaBlume root extract could stimulate the blood clotting with antibacterial property. The proponents found out that after applying the extract to the wound, it immediately reacted after 90 seconds and stimulateed the blood clotting so the wound heals faster.
